Application deadline for the second edition of PERTE Agroalimentario open
The Government of Spain has officially opened the deadline for the submission of applications for the second edition of the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) Agri-Food. This program, part of the Next Generation EU funds, aims to promote the modernization and competitiveness of the agri-food sector, a key pillar of the country’s economy.
Financial support for innovative projects
The second edition of the PERTE Agroalimentario has a significant economic endowment of over 1.8 billion euros, aimed at financing innovative projects that contribute to improving the sustainability, digitization and efficiency of companies and cooperatives in the sector. The aid is also aimed at promoting the creation of quality employment, especially in rural areas.

Priority areas include improving energy efficiency, reducing food waste, responsible water use and promoting precision agriculture. Special attention will also be given to projects that promote the circular economy and the reduction of the carbon footprint.
Interested companies have until November 30, 2024 to submit their projects through the platform enabled by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. To be eligible, projects must be aligned with PERTE objectives and demonstrate technical and economic feasibility.
With this new call, the Government seeks to continue with the transformation of the agri-food sector, ensuring its adaptation to current and future challenges in an increasingly demanding economic and environmental environment.
